Sick baby

Sunday morning I go in to get Gracee out of her crib and she is burning up! I check her temperature and it is 101.6! First thing I thought of was oh no she has the flu!! I gave her some Motrin and about 20 minutes later she is fine and playing like nothing is wrong. I took her to the doctor Monday and find out she has an ear infection! I thought nursing was supposed to help prevent these! I am just glad it is not the flu! Tuesday she was back to her happy self and even started eating again. Now today she is whiny and will not eat a thing and acts like she does not feel good. I check her temp. and it is 99.1. I hope the antibiotic is working and its not getting worse. I hate it when any of my babies are sick!

The hubby went out of town with his brother. They will not be back until Sunday. This is our first time being away from him this long. My mother in law is staying with us at night. I don't like being alone at night. I am so looking forward to Sunday!!

Decision has been made!

I decided to keep the little girl 3 days a week! I met with her and her parents over the weekend and they all seemed to be honest and extremely nice people. The little girl her name is Abby was the complete opposite of Dalton. She was quiet and laid back while Dalton is loud and well very loud. I think she will be no problem as I am home all day anyway taking care of kids. This way I will make a little extra money. Dalton liked her he kept bringing toys to her. Gracee was asleep when they were here but woke up as they were leaving. Gracee kinda just stared at them. I have a really good feeling about it!

We had our Christmas pictures done yesterday at the Botanical Gardens. They are gonna be beautiful! I cannot wait to see them! One picture she took of us walking down a brick walkway with the pond on one side. Me and Travis were holding Dalton's hand and Travis was holding Gracee. I know this one will be one of my favorites! It was such a beautiful day to do pictures!

Gracee can sleep

Gracee just set a record for herself! On Tuesday night she went to sleep at 9:00 and did not wake up at all until 9:30 the next morning! She usually wakes up at 2 and maybe one more time and I nurse her back to sleep. I can't even believe that she slept that good! I woke up with very big and hurting boobies but she took care of that when she woke up. I thought it might be a fluke but she slept from 9 to 7 in the morning last night! Dalton has also slept all night the past two nights! I am hoping they keep this up because I have been getting some great sleep!

No more crib!

Dalton has finally figured out how to climb out of his crib!! He did it for the first time last week, and I thought maybe he will not do it again but I was wrong. I have been dreading this! He will not lay down now to take a nap at all. Today I lay him down at usual nap time and probably ten minutes later I hear footsteps coming to my room and I hear him say "hey mama." I don't know how to get him to take a nap now. He screams if I try to go and lay him down. This past week by 5:00 he is so exhausted and so cranky! We are gonna go and buy him a big bed this weekend. Maybe that will excite him enough to take a nap again! I am hopeful wishing I am sure! :)

Halloween

We took Dalton to Boo in the Zoo yesterday and I thought he was gonna be kinda scared but he loved it! All you do is walk through the zoo and you go to different stations and the people are all dressed up and they hand out candy to the kids. There was one man dressed as a dog and Dalton didn't like that one but other than that he had fun. I think that he doesn't like for people's faces to be covered up. Dalton was the cutest cow there! Gracee stayed with her Nana because it was just too cold!

I am gonna take both kids to Denver down farms for a festival. Gracee is gonna be a leopard and Dalton will wear his cow costume. I will post pics of them when we get home.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Decisions decisions

I am contemplating on watching a one year old little girl all day on Fridays and sometimes on Mondays and Wednesdays. I know I would be able to handle it and it would be nice to be able to help someone out and make some money doing it. It would also give my kiddos someone else to play with. I just hate to think that on the days I watch her that means I am gonna be stuck at home for sure. What if the little girl is a little devil. I am not even sure how to charge her and be fair about it. I know the going rate is $120 a week at day cares around here so would that mean I charge $20 a day? Maybe Travis can help me make up my mind.

Sleep

I do not know what has gotten into Dalton but he is not sleeping at night so well anymore. He wakes up crying and I go in and get him and he tells me he wants to watch cartoons. He will watch the noggin channel for like 30 minutes and go back to sleep. He has been doing this for about a week. I am hoping this passes so we can sleep all night.

Gracee can now say 5 words which are: mama, dada, papa, bubu (brother), and hey! She is growing too fast! Before I know it I am gonna have two kids running around talking all the time. Dalton now plays games with his sister. He will get on all fours and crawl around wanting Gracee to follow him, which she does. They both giggle and laugh I think they could do this all day. I love hearing them laugh. It is the sweetest sound in the world!

Crazy people

There are some weirdos out there in this world! My sister and her husband went to a concert this past week. My sister bought one of the t-shirts and decided to run to the restroom real quick. Her husband was waiting on her outside. Apparently there were some girls in the restroom with her that wanted her t-shirt. The girl punched my sister and knocked her out! My sister woke up thirty minutes later and they had dragged her in the stall! She has a bump on her head and a busted lip! She doesn't really remember much of it. Is this not the craziest thing? I am just glad these people didn't have a knife or anything. My sister gets knocked out over a t-shirt! What has the world come to?

Painting house

I am gonna write about something other than the kids today. We moved into a new house in May and we are just now getting around to painting. All the walls right now are white. I never realized what a tough decision this would be! Me and Travis went back and forth with the living room color for a month! We finally decided on a khaki color, which made the white molding kinda pop and look good. The kitchen we decided on the color faded clay which is kinda a red orangey color. Gracee's room is a bright pink and my mother in law is painting fairies and dragon flies and stuff on it. Our bedroom is gonna be sage. I cannot decide what I am gonna do in Dalton's room. I am thinking something with trucks, cars, and tractors. Its kinda what was done in his old bedroom though. I may take him to Lowes or Home Depot and let him pick out something. My luck we are gonna come home with neon orange or bright red paint. (that is his favorite colors) I will load some pictures later today of the rooms we got painted.

And she is off!

Gracee is officially crawling! It is actually funny how she started. Dalton accidentally dropped a gold fish cracker on the floor and being the food lover that she is Gracee stared it down. She hopped up on her knees and took off after that thing. She crawled like she has been doing it for months. On Friday i was lying in the floor watching her play and she crawls over to me and uses my legs and pulls her self up! So in a week she went from only rolling to crawling and pulling up. Wow I am gonna have my hands full now. :)

Dalton is saying small sentences now. He says "I do not", "I love you", "I want ____", "I bumped head". I know there are a lot more I just can't think of right now. It is just nice that he now can tell me what he wants and kinda hold a conversation with you. He is still doing great with the potty training. He wears his underwear during the day and wears a diaper at night. He has no accidents and he is starting to wake up at night to tell me he has to potty. I am a little nervous to put underwear on him at night in case he does have an accident.

The both of them are starting to kinda play together. They were in Dalton's room and Dalton would had toys to Gracee to play with. He is also doing better and not throwing his toys at her. I am loving this stage they are both in right now.

She bites!

I got the kids pictures done this past week and they turned out really good! Here is one of my favorites:

Gracee got her first tooth last week and I think another is trying to poke through. She bit me while I was nursing her today. This caught me completely off guard because she was just a sucking away and bam she clamped down and hard! It startled me and I screamed and scared her. Now every time I nurse her she bites me. I have been just taking her off and placing her on the floor. I hope she stops doing this because that sharp little tooth hurts.
Today while I was making our lunch Dalton brought his stuffed animal that is a tiger and placed it on the floor and got a baby wipe and pretended like he was changing its diaper. He said "change him." Then he throws him across the room and said he was sleepy. I thought he was being sweet then he had to go and throw the tiger. Boys will be boys!

Children

Its funny how much my kids are different. Gracee is doing nothing at all like Dalton done. Dalton never really rolled around at all. Gracee is a Roley polly! She rolls all over the room! Dalton started crawling at 7 months, Gracee has no interest in crawling yet. She would rather stand. Dalton did not get a tooth until he was over a year old, Gracee just got her first tooth the other day. Dalton was a independent baby while Gracee is attached to my hip! Dalton was a little baby always below the 20th percentile and Gracee is a chunky monkey always in the 80th to 90th percentile. That just goes to show kids are so different and develop at different rates.

Big boy!

We had a lazy weekend, did nothing at all. It was very nice! Gracee has not started crawling yet, Dalton started crawling at 7 months. I am not too worried she is very happy rolling everywhere she wants to go. I am in no need for her to grow up since she is my last baby. She does say ma ma all the time and when she says it she sounds like she is saying my ma ma! I decided that since she is not really interested in bottles I am going to skip them all together. She likes cups with straws so when I am away from her I am going to pump ( I hate pumping!) and put the milk in her straw cup for her. I hope this works well.

Dalton decided he wants to be a big boy. I put his big boy underwear on him and he has had no accidents at all. Last week when I tried the underwear he had a lot of accidents. He peed in the potty first thing and when he was through he said "Good boy!" He later went in his room and was playing with his tractors. He all of a sudden came running to me and said "diaper on" I asked him if he had to go potty and he said "ok." He then pooped in the potty and peed two more times! I am very proud of the little guy! He will still of course wear diapers at nap and bedtime. I am just happy we are making some progress towards potty training. Both of the kids have colds, its Gracee's first cold ever! Neither one have fevers just a runny nose. I hope both of them are better by next week because I have an appointment for them to get their pictures done. I will leave you a picture of Dalton enjoying his four wheeler he got for his birthday.

Birthday Boy!

Dalton's birthday was the 23 and he became a 2 year old! I can't believe he is already 2! We had a birthday party for him at a place called Monkey Joe's, its a bounce house place. He absolutely loved it! The only thing he didn't like about it was there was someone dressed as a monkey there and all the little kids were terrified of it. Dalton ran from him screaming and I had to tell the person to please not come out again. I was a little nervous that it would give him nightmares because he kept saying "monkey hurt you."

Dalton got loaded with toys! He got: a bicycle, (believe it or not it is the smallest bicycle I have ever seen and he can ride it!) a big wheel, dump truck, several tractors, bubble lawn mower, fishing pole, barn with farm animals, some DVDs of tractors and trucks, money, ambulance truck, pj's, and we got him a battery powered 4 wheeler.

The following day he played all day with all of his new toys and even let Gracee Jayne play with some of them! I was shocked and proud he was sharing. He refused to take a nap so I let him play quietly in his room. When I went to check on him because he was too quiet he had fallen asleep with his tractor in his hand! It was too cute and I am still beating myself up for not taking a picture. He is a big boy now!!

Beach vacation

We just got back from Myrtle beach and we had a blast. It was kinda Dalton's first time since the last time he went he was only 8 months old. Dalton was not even scared of the water which kinda frightened me. He would run in it and fall and get up and do it again. I did some firsts while I was there too like I nursed Gracee on the beach and also at the tanger outlet stores. Nobody even payed any attention to what I was doing either. Here are some pictures from our trip:

I will do a longer post in a little bit. ;)

Intro

Hello everyone! I have started this blog to keep a journal for my family and maybe to help relieve some stress also. Here is some background info: Me and my husband Travis got married on 5/6/06. Travis owns his own business a nursery that grows all kinds of grasses and groundcovers its a 30 year old bussiness. I worked at a bank as a teller.

We started trying for our first baby in July of 2006 and on December 26 2006 I got a BFP! Dalton was born on 8/23/07 at 38wks 6 days:

We were so happy to have a healthy baby boy! Dalton had to be put in daycare at just 6 weeks old so I could go back to work. He stayed sick constantly with ear infections and it broke my heart. We made a big decision in April 2008 that I would quit my job and stay at home with Dalton.

We were not planning on having another child for a while but someone else had other plans. I got a surprise BFP on mothers day of 2008! Gracee Jayne was born on 1/6/09!

Dalton had a hard time with his sister being around at first. Now after 7 months Dalton loves his sissy and she absolutely loves him! Our family is complete!
